WWE SmackDown, also known as Friday Night SmackDown or SmackDown, is a WWE-featured American television wrestling program currently broadcast live every Friday at 8pm ET on Fox. SmackDown! appeared in America on UPN on April 29, 1999 and was previously broadcast on Thursday night. The show would air on Friday night, September 9, 2005, and, after the merger of UPN and WB, premiered on The CW in September 2006. The show would air on MyNetworkTV in October 2008. October 1, 2010, SmackDown moved to the Syfy cable network, and would eventually return on Thursday, January 15, 2015. The show then moved to the USA Network on January 7, 2016, and a year later, from on July 19, 2016, SmackDown began broadcasting live on Tuesday night. SmackDown's move to FOX on October 4, 2019 marked the return of the program on Friday night with a television broadcast on air (and the second time SmackDown broadcasts on a FOX-controlled network).

SmackDown has been distributed in 163 stadiums, in forty-four major cities, seven countries: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Iraq in 2003 and the 2004 Tribute to the Troops, Japan in 2005, in Italy in 2007, and Mexico in 2011. switching to its current live format, the recordings began to be shown a few hours earlier in Ireland and the United Kingdom and a day earlier in Australia, Canada, Singapore and the Philippines than in the United States, due to time differences.
